h composed the cantata
Jesus schlaft, was soll
ich hoffen [Jesus sleeps,
what hope have I] BWV 81
for the fourth Epiphany
Sunday, 1724. The cantata
is structured as a little
drama: In the beginning,
fear prevails. The seas
rage and Jesus is asleep.
The threateningly foaming
waves are vividly
depicted in the soughing
string accompaniment of
the tenor aria. Jesus's
words Ihr Kleinglaubigen,
warum seid ihr so
furchtsam? [You of little
faith, why are you so
fearful?] are set as a
bass arioso at the center
of the cantata; they
provide the turning
point. In the subsequent
bass aria, the towering
seas are silenced. A
recitative - Wohl mir
[Well for me] - leads
into the closing chorale
with its certainty Unter

the tempests of my

of the Young Cellist
being no exception.
Lée enjoyed a
successful career as a
soloist with the Paris
Opéra and as a
Cello teacher at the
Paris Conservatoire. His
teaching styles displayed
a variety of German and
French influences. The
First Step of the Young
Cellist contains fifty
short, easy and
progressive pieces with
the accompaniment of a
second Cello (the
teacher). Beginning with
semibreve studies,
Lée's study book
progresses to triplet
exercises. The First Step
of the Young Cellist is
essential to the
progression of all
aspiring beginners of the
instrument.&rdquo. $37.95 - Voir plus => AcheterDélais: 24 hours - In Stock

inches. The Schott
Student Edition presents
motivational teaching
repertoire in five
levels, from easy to
advanced. These editions
feature easy-to-read
printing along with tips
and suggestions from
highly experienced music
educators. The Serenade
& Valse by the
relatively unknown
composer Marie Dare is an
attractive addition to
the repertoire in the
first years of study
(Level 2) and can be
played entirely in first
position. The Gavotte op.
112 by Sebastian Lee is a
multi-faceted work for
intermediate students
(Level 3). Musically the
Gavotte offers the
possibility to present
different characters. The
piano part is
intentionally simple and
is limited to a
supporting
accompaniment. $10.99 - Voir plus => AcheterDélais: 24 hours - In Stock
