Par SCOTT ANDY. A new arrangement of Andy Scott's popular piece, And Everything is Still... is now available. Arranged by virtuoso guitarist James Girling, in conjunction with the composer. Inspired by a poem written by Lemn Sissay (taken from his children?s book The Emperor?s Watchmaker), And Everything Is Still? was commissioned by the Royal Northern College of Music and was premiered by Carla Souza (flute) and Lucy Colquhoun (piano) on 22nd June 2008. The time away from Paris gave the composer the necessary creative free space to produce the delicate Berceuse (lullaby) as well as the b minor sonata that year. The former is known for its dreamy, exquisite ambient sound - and yet it still numbers amongst Chopin's most fabricated works. It was originally intended to have the somewhat sober title 'Variantes?: a sketch shows how Chopin conceived these 'Variantes?. Easy to play, it still requires some technique of the instrument and some theory knowledge to read in different keys. The book includes the parts for Viola and Piano and for Viola only. The music, quite slow, is really delicate and is supposed to represent a Belgian girl coming from Brussels. She is part of the four faces with: I. The Californian girl, II. The Wisconsonian and IV. The Parisian girl. Darius Milhaud (1892-1974) was a French modernist composer and a teacher. Hewas also part of Les Six and was strongly influenced by Jazz.
