giustificazione
scientifica. Che rapporto
ci sia tra queste
tecniche e il vero canto
e presto detto: lo stesso
che intercorre tra un
triciclo e un'aquila...
Con questa differenza:
che il triciclo, per
quanto elementare nella
sua meccanica, assolve
perfettamente alla sua
funzione, mentre i metodi
di canto attuali (anche
dando per buona l'ipotesi
assurda che la voce sia
una macchina) si basano
su una logica funzionale
talmente astrusa che, se
applicata a una qualsiasi
macchina reale, ne
causerebbe
automaticamente
l'immediata rottura.
Questo e vero sia per il
canto classico, sia per
il canto moderno, che dal
punto di vista
tecnico-vocale non ha
fatto che riciclare il
peggio di quanto e stato
prodotto dal canto
classico. Il crescente
successo di queste
tecniche suscita degli
interrogativi sulla sua
causa, che tra gli altri
produce questo effetto
comico-surreale: la
diffusione epidemica di
una sorta di canto
'virtuale', nel senso che
costringe i suoi 'utenti'
a stare rigorosamente
lontani dai palcoscenici
reali, rimanendo a casa
propria a cantare con la
stessa perfezione
(immaginaria) dei
cantanti piu ammirati e
applauditi... Una
'magia' cosi stupefacente
e resa possibile solo da
una cosa: il potere di
suggestione ipnotica che
promana dall'idea-idolo
della tecnologia
scientifica. Il risultato
concreto
dell'applicazione di
questa ideologia a un
fenomeno come il canto,
che non e meccanico, ma
senso-motorio e
sinestetico, e la
distorsione acustica.
Questa distorsione
acustica puo essere piu o
meno grave, puo essere
'giustificata' con le piu
svariate teorie
estetiche, sociologiche e
persino 'scientifiche',
ma sempre porta allo
stesso risultato, che e
la risonanza forzata,
l'affaticamento vocale e,
a lungo andare,
l'irreversibile logorio
dello strumento voce e la
distruzione stessa
dell'oggetto di studio:
il canto. Risalire
alla fonte originaria del
vero canto e del suo vero
controllo, che non e
esterno, localizzato e
meccanicistico, ma
interiore, centrale e
olistico, e l'obiettivo
che si e posto l'autore
di questo libro nella sua
ricerca vocale, durata
anni, che in questo libro
viene raccontata. Essa lo
ha portato a conoscere i
piu noti cantanti e
studiosi della vocalita
del secolo scorso (alcuni
dei quali sono entrati
nella storia del canto):
Carlo Bergonzi, Giuseppe
Taddei, Gerard Souzay,
Lajos Kozma, Richard
Miller, Rodolfo Celletti,
Giuseppe Giacomini e

probably first played
pieces by Domenico
Scarlatti in public in
1911. During the next two
decades he featured them
in his piano recitals
more than 60 times. His
dedication to Italian and
French Baroque music is
also illustrated by the
fact that, in 1920, he
signed a contract with
the Budapest publisher
Rozsnyai to edit seven
volumes of Baroque
keyboard music. His plan
was to select
compositions by Couperin
and Rameau in addition to
pieces by Scarlatti, but
during the 1920s it ended
up being only two volumes
of Couperin and another
two comprising ten
compositions by
Scarlatti. In editing
these masterpieces,
Bartók's aim was
primarily to
counterbalance or
evenovershadow the works
by the
Mendelssohn-Schumann
epigones used in primary
and secondary music
education. The present,
single-volume collection
comprises Bartók's two
Scarlatti volumes,
complete with an
editorial preface, his
detailed performing
instructions, and his
commentary. The editor
recommends these
compositions for pianists
with at least five years'
experience, and gives
practical recommendations
for the grouping of
individual items to form
charming sonatina-like
sets of pieces.
Bartók spielte
wahrscheinlich 1911
erstmals Werke von
Domenico Scarlatti
öffentlich und in den
folgenden zwei
Jahrzehnten ließ er
sie an seinen
Klavierabenden mehr als
sechzig Mal erklingen.
Seine Verbundenheit mit
der italienischen und
französischen
Barockmusik beweist sich
auch darin, dass er 1920
einen Vertrag mit dem
Budapester Verlag
Rozsnyai über die
Herausgabe von sieben
Heften mit Werken der
Klaviermusik schloss.
Geplant war, dass er das
Material der Bände
sowohl mit Werken
Scarlattis als auch mit
Kompositionen Couperins
und Rameaus
zusammenstellte. Im Laufe
der 1920er-Jahre kam es
schließlich zur
Herausgabe einer
Couperin-Auswahl in zwei
Heften sowie - ebenso in
zwei Heften - von zehn
Scarlatti-Kompositionen.
Mit der
Veröffentlichung
dieser Meisterwerke
beabsichtigte Bartók
in erster Linie, den
Mendelssohn-Schumann-Epig
onen bereits in der
Musikausbildung in der
Grund- und Mittelstufe
entgegenwirken und ihre
Werke in den Hintergrund
treten zu lassen. Die
vorliegende Publikation
versammelt in einem Band
das Material der beiden
mit Bartóks Vorwort,
detaillierten
Vortragsanweisungen und
Anmerkungen erschienenen
Scarlatti-Hefte. Der
Herausgeber empfiehlt
PianistInnen diese
Kompositionen seit
mindestens fünf Jahren
zum Klavier spielen und
gibt auch praktische
Vorschläge dafür,
wie man die einzelnen
Stücke zu einem
attraktiven
Sonatina-artigen Ganzen
