"Crazy Cat Lady is unabashedly experimentalcalling for the performer to use the gamut of extended flute technique, as well as short bursts of improvisation, grunting, hissing, and speaking into the flute. Although the work uses multiple extended techniques, the score is fully notated in a logical, coherent, and easy-to-read style. This work is intended for players who are tired of the traditional and very common ""soft"" and lyrical style, but still want music that is idiomatic to the flute.".
