The fact that the soloist is sometimes in the foreground does not imply a victory over the others. The very concept of victory is meaningless here.At times, the soloist will fulfil a leadership role, at others he or she will underpin from passivity what is happening in the orchestra, intentionally from the shadows, as a grey eminence. And at other times - why not - he will question what the majority is doing.It is not a rough relationship of me against you, but there is also a we.The composition and orchestration of this piano concerto was made possible by a grant from the Senator for Culture of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen. This work was funded by an artist's grant as part of the Bremen-Corona-Hilfen programme.The premiere by the orchestra of the Bremer Orchestergemeinschaft is scheduled for the beginning of 2024. Duration: 17 to 20 minutes.

It's my pleasure to offer up some options!I had so much fun writing these songs and I hope students, teachers, and audiences alike enjoy them just as much! May you laugh as you state your case to go on a winter vacation. May you cry at the idea of wearing a special hat made with a grandmother's love. May you be left breathless with joy as you glide on a frozen pond with no one else around. In addition to all of these brand-spankin' new tunes, I also included the previously-released Everyone's a Kid at Christmas because, well, it's a hoot!These are crowd pleasers perfect for holiday recitals, and some can be performed in a group as well as solos.A note for teachers: These songs do have varying ranges. I, for the most part, notated them as I conceived of them. But I did my best to provide alternate pitches in case the melody goes a little high or a little low. So, I invite to you peruse a song in it's entirety and see where there may be options even if the designated range may seem a little wide. It is my intention to make these songs as accessible to as many singers as possible.

In this collection of songs, Monteverdi, for the first time, starts to bring small groups of songs (2 or 3) to form a 'Scena - a collection with similar words or on a similar theme or by the same poet and keeping them as a little group within the book of madrigals. The 16th song, Ma Dove o Lasso begins as follows: But where do I leave the remains of the body It is another song of pleading! This song is the second part of the second 'scena' within this book, a group of three linked songs (Nos 15-17) which is also available as a single download.As with all of Monteverdi's vocal music, it translates really well onto instruments. Bach, Prelude from Suite No. 1 for CelloAdvanced Intermediate LevelUnaccompanied Violin part: 2 pagesTime: 2:10Yes, making music with others is one of the best things about being a violinist, and a string duo, trio or quartet is great for weddings and other private or corporate events.  But sometimes through constraints of availability / space / budget – or just for the thrill of it - we need to go it alone.  That’s when music for unaccompanied violin (not merely solo violin) comes into its own.Here’s the glorious Prelude from Bach's Cello Suite No. 1 in G major, transposed into D major so it can be played on the violin.  Although the original version is the epitome of celloism, Bach will hopefully be okay with this since he himself rearranged and transposed the Prelude from his solo violin Partita No. 3 in E major. The present articulation is based on the copy made by Bach's wife, Anna Magdalena, during his lifetime.  If you like this, please check out my other arrangements for unacompanied violin: Bach's Air from Suite No. 3 in D (“Air on the G Stringâ€); Ain't Misbehavin'.
