Brass Ensemble Trombone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.792151 Composed by Various. Arranged by Gazda, Frank. Baroque,Classical,Renaissance,Romantic Period,Sacred. Score and parts. 27 pages. Gordon Cherry #3679567. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.792151). Ave Maria is a traditional Catholic prayer asking for intercession from the Virgin Mary. The prayer has often been set to music.Frank Gazda has beautifully arranged four musical settings of the prayer for Trombone Quartet by: Jacob Arcadelt (Renaissance), Johann Joseph Fux (Baroque), Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (Classical) and Giuseppe Verdi (Romantic).Although originally composed as four-part choral settings, they work perfectly for the Trombone. Each piece stands on its own as a work of beauty, or the four can be performed as a whole. They are at a moderately advanced level of difficulty.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1314351 Composed by Wilhelm Fitzenhagen. 19th Century,Chamber,Classical,Romantic Period. 16 pages. RēsFacta Editions #903096. Published by RēsFacta Editions (A0.1314351). German composer and cellist, Wilhelm Fitzenhagen's AVE MARIA, Op. 41 is a musical setting of the traditional Catholic prayer Ave Maria, which is based on the Hail Mary, a salutation to the Virgin Mary. Fitzenhagen's arrangement is scored for four cellos, making it a beautiful and intimate chamber music work for cello quartet. In Ave Maria, Fitzenhagen skillfully adapts the melody of the prayer for the cello ensemble, allowing each cello to express different facets of the music. The four cellos blend harmoniously to create a rich and sonorous texture, which is well-suited to the devotional nature of the prayer. Fitzenhagen's arrangement is known for its lyrical and expressive qualities, which allow the performers to convey a deep sense of reverence and spirituality.

Bach-Gounod: Ave Maria for Trumpet (or Cornet) and Piano

B-Flat Trumpet,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1310493 Composed by J S Bach-Gounod. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. Instructional,Praise & Worship,Wedding. Score and part. 6 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #899556. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.1310493). This ever-popular piece is often performed at weddings, funerals and many other solemn ceremonial events. It has always been a favorite among instrumental players and often used in recitals or concert encores. This arrangement by Colin Kirkpatrick is ideal for the intermediate trumpet or cornet player. It is in concert C and the transposed trumpet range is from A below the treble staff to F sharp on the top line. In 1853, the well-known French composer Charles Gounod added his own melody over a rippling keyboard accompaniment which was a slightly adapted version of the Prelude No. 1 in C major, BWV846, from Book I of J. S. Bach's The Well-Tempered Clavier, published in 1722. The title of the “combined” piece was Méditation sur le Premier Prélude de Piano de S. Bach. Gounod’s original arrangement transposed Bach’s keyboard part from C major into F major and it was scored for violin (or cello), organ and piano. In 1859, the French music publishing company Jacques-Léopold Heugel brought out a vocal version based on the familiar Latin text. Ave Maria (Hail Mary) is a traditional Catholic prayer addressed to the Virgin Mary. The version of Bach's prelude which Gounod used included the so-called Schwencke measure (m. 27 in this arrangement), a measure (bar) allegedly added by the German composer and pianist Christian Friedrich Gottlieb Schwencke (1767-1822) in an attempt to correct what was considered a harmonic weakness in the original. Whether there actually was a “harmonic weakness” (or possibly an error in the manuscript) remains a matter of conjecture but the fact remains that the most familiar-sounding version of this piece, recorded countless times by both singers and instrumentalists includes this Schwencke measure. It is therefore included in this arrangement. Some published arrangements show minor inconsistencies in the rhythm of the melody. This arrangement uses the familiar rhythm of the Ave Maria version as it appeared in the 1859 edition.

B-Flat Clarinet,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1316712 Composed by Bach-Gounod. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Chamber,Christmas,Contest,Festival,Religious,Traditional. Score and part. 11 pages. Jmsgu3 #905408. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1316712). This arrangement features the controversial Schwencke measure (ms. 27) initially introduced in 1783 by Christian Friedrich Gottlieb Schwencke. The convenient 1st & 2nd endings provide an option for extended performance. Duration with repeat - 4:50. Score: 7 pages. Solo part: 1 page, piano part: 4 pages. They are based on Prelude #1 in C Major from the Well-Tempered Clavier, Book 1, and well suited for church meditations, school programs, or recital encores. Ave MariaAve Maria is a Catholic prayer that consequently asks for the mother of Jesus (Mary) to intercede. Charles Gounod composed a famous version of the Ave Maria. He was a French Romantic composer who overlaid a new melody on an existing Bach chord progression. The progression is from Bach's Prelude No. 1 from Well-Tempered Clavier I. This and Schubert's versions have become essential at weddings, masses, and funerals.Bach OverviewFirst, Johann Sebastian Bach may be the greatest composer in music history. Indeed, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. People are probably most familiar with instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and the Art of Fugue. His most famous vocal works seem to include the most noteworthy Mass in B Minor. Also, most striking, though, are the St. John Passion and certainly the Christmas Oratorio. HistoryBach came from a long line of musicians and, above all, composers. Consequently, he first of all pursued a career as a church organist. As a result, he gained employment in various Protestant churches in Germany. He worked as a court musician in Weimar and Köthen for a while. Here, he probably developed his organ style and, likewise, his chamber music style. Eventually, he gained an appointment as Cantor of St. Thomas in Leipzig. Here, he worked until difficulties with his employer ultimately drove him away. The King of Poland finally appointed him as a court composer. StyleIt seems like Bach created a fascinating new international style. He synthesized elements of the most noteworthy European music ideas into his unique style. This new style was probably his synthesis of European musical rhythm and form. Furthermore, he demonstrated a complete mastery of counterpoint and motivic development. His sense of harmonic organization probably propelled him to the top.Revival Mendelssohn conducted a Bach revival in the nineteenth century. His effort probably helped to re-familiarize the public with the magnitude of Bach's works. During this period, scholars published many noteworthy Bach biographies. Moreover, Wolfgang Schmieder published the BWV (Bach Werke Verzeichnis). As a result, this is now the official catalog of his entire artistic output. The BWV number allows us to locate a work in the catalog. Sometimes scholars will use an S (Schmieder) as an abbreviation for BWV.

Guitar,Instrumental Duet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1395584 Composed by Franz Schubert (1797 - 1828). Arranged by Keith W. Gehle. 19th Century,Christmas,Classical,Sacred,Wedding. 7 pages. Keith Gehle #979018. Published by Keith Gehle (A0.1395584). Composed three years before his death in 1828, Franz Schubert??s ??Ave Maria? is by far one of his most popular works. Pieces entitled ??Ave Maria? (or Hail Mary) are traditional Roman Catholic prayers in honor of Mary, the mother of Jesus. For that reason, they are very popular during the Christmas season and often used in traditional wedding services. This PDF includes detailed fingerings and interpretation in standard notation. The second guitar part (arpeggio accompaniment) is fairly easy and the first part (melody) gives that player good practice in upper positions (mostly the 7th position).

Bach-Gounod: Ave Maria for Tenor Saxophone and Piano

(+)
Composed by J. S. Bach - C. Gounod. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. General Worship, Easter, Wedding, Bar or Bat Mitzvah, Funeral. Score, Solo Part. 6 pages. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications
This ever-popular piece is often performed at weddings, funerals and many other solemn
ceremonial events. It has always been a favorite among instrumental players and often used in
recitals or concert encores. In 1853, the well-known French composer Charles Gounod added his
own melody over a rippling keyboard accompaniment which was a slightly adapted version of the
Prelude No. 1 in C major, BWV846, from Book I of J. S. Bach's The Well-Tempered Clavier,
published in 1722. The title of the ?combined? piece was Mditation sur le Premier Prlude de
Piano de S. Bach. Gounod?s original arrangement transposed Bach?s keyboard part from C major
into F major and it was scored for violin (or cello), organ and piano. In 1859, the French
music publishing company Jacques-Lopold Heugel brought out a vocal version based on the
familiar Latin text. Ave Maria (Hail Mary) is a traditional Catholic prayer addressed to the
Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus.
The version of Bach's prelude which Gounod used included the so-called "Schwencke measure" (m.
27 in this arrangement), a measure (bar) allegedly added by the German composer and pianist
Christian Friedrich Gottlieb Schwencke (1767-1822) in an attempt to correct what was considered
a harmonic weakness in the original. Whether there actually was a ?harmonic weakness? (or
possibly an error in the manuscript) remains a matter of conjecture but the fact remains that
the most familiar-sounding version of this piece, recorded countless times by both singers and
instrumentalists includes this Schwencke measure. It is therefore included in this arrangement.
Some published arrangements show minor inconsistencies in the rhythm of the melody. This
arrangement uses the familiar rhythm of the Ave Maria version as it appeared in the 1859
edition.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.933476 Composed by Mark Kline. Christian,Gospel,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Score. 6 pages. Mark Kline #3120941. Published by Mark Kline (A0.933476). This musical setting of the Catholic Memorare prayer incorporates as much as possible the full traditional English language text. The omissions within, and changes of sequence among, the phrases of the original prose are due to poetic, metrical, and musical considerations. In other words, a faithful representation of the prayer’s meaning is substantially present in this setting. Historically, the invocation of Mary has very early origins among Christians, with the Memorare prayer having roots in the sub tuum prayer of the 3rd century Coptic Church. Memorare (Lyrics) [Refrain]Remember, O most gracious VirginNever was it known that anyone was left unaidedWho fled to thee for protection or sought thy intercession [Verse 1]Unto thee do we fly, standing with confidenceO Mother of the Word Incarnate [Verse 2]Sinful and sorrowful, we implore thy help,O Virgin of Virgins my Mother, [Verse 3]Mary, in thy Mercy hear and answer us,Despise not our petitions, [End]Memorare.
