(The very low bass part can be substituted with a digital vocal ooh sound if contra-bass singers are not available. This is a mood arrangement we will use in our choir Christmas concert setting the mood of the birth of Jesus. Sanctuary will be darkened with some soft candles lit. There is a special handbell effect at bar 51 that is to be played as soft harmonics like wind chimes. .

For S.A.T.B. choir with piano accompaniment. This is a very beautiful, harmonically rich and flowing work with the text adapted from Ecclesiastes 3. There are a few passages when parts divide. Vocal parts are all within normal ranges. Level of difficulty is moderate/advanced with lots of movement in the vocal parts and some close hamonies. It works well for advanced high school groups, church choirs, university choirs. There is also available a S.A.B. arrangement for more advanced and smaller ensembles here on SMPPress.com. Voicing: SATB a cappella, with rhythm section (piano, electric bass, drums) Style: Bossa Nova This arrangement of Ray Conniff's Favorite Theme from Rachmaninoff's Second Piano Concerto will bring to mind the writing style of Clare Fischer for his 2+2 vocal groups. Though still a challenge, especially with the optional vocal soli, this Conniff-themed edition has been adapted from a more difficult version previously performed by Vocalogy on their 2005 Distilled release. The piece opens with a pulsating rhythm section figure as pianist, bassist, and drummer enter one by one. The wonderful moments of tension have been maintained beneath Rachmaninoff's soaringly romantic melody, and the wordless vocal provides an ethereal quality. With the optional soli, this is an Advanced level arrangement. There is room for improvising regardless of whether or not the soli is performed and, with no soli, this is an Advanced Intermediate arrangement.  Included individual piano, bass, and drum parts play from individual parts with chord symbols, slashes, and rhythmic notation.
