The fragments appear consecutively as one single piece, but each fragment is a stand-alone piece (although very short). The present work is the first installment, that is, the one I composed in 2006.

This musical piece is comprised of two twelve-tone rows, atonal music based on synthetic scales unique to each composition, which are based on medieval plainsong chants whose systemization was begun by Pope Gregory I during the sixth century AD. A simple explanation of this composition is that it is the world's oldest notated music combined with modern 20th-century music theory that eschews traditional melody and harmony for synthetic scales unique to each composition. The music is complex and dissonant, although the conversion of the two plainsong chants to twelve-tone rows retains a semblance of a tonal center at given points throughout. Still, the entire piece of music is that same melody utilized harmonically: just forward, backward, upside-down, backward and upside-down, rhythmically altered, transposed, displaced up or down, or split into smaller cells and then reprocessed in the same way mentioned above. I have also borrowed the Baroque Period techniques of the two-part invention and four-voice fugue combined with serial musical techniques that may offend the average listener's traditional musical sensibilities but make logical structural sense. I used the Dies Irae (The Day of Wrath) and Tuba Mirum (The Last Trumpet Call). The authorship of the chants has been attributed to many saints from Gregory to Thomas of Celano but probably evolved from early Jewish psalmody carried forward by the earliest Jewish converts to Christianity, which further developed into trochaic metered poetry by successive monks. It was set to memorized plainsong heralding back, in part, to Jewish worship. The text of the Dies Irae is very similar to Zephaniah 1:16​. The last trumpet call that raises the dead in Christ is comparable to the Apostle Paul's account written in his first epistle to the Corinthians Chapter 15 and first epistle to the Thessalonians Chapter 4. The two epistles may, or may not, be related to the Final of the Seven Trumpets bringing God's Judgement on the earth spoken of in Revelation 11. The relationship of the trumpet mentioned in the epistles to those written about in Revelation divides theologians, but I digress into unrelated matters. Despite the modern theory, the music is still movingly visceral because of its conceptually descriptive nature. It is full of aural symbolism following the Dies Irae and the Tuba Mirum, making it a type of program music ala Hector Berlioz of the Romantic Period. The music is, therefore, genuinely eclectic because it has blended qualities of several musical periods. The final section of the video explains the symbolism. The music difficulty is virtuosic, extremely taxing to play.

Born in Czudec near Rzeszów, he studied at the Music Society in Kraków, then he studied piano with Kazimierz Hofmann, and finally in 1873 he went to Munich, where he studied at the conservatory of piano theory and playing. Then he devoted himself to pedagogical work, initially in the company oo. Jesuits in Tarnopol, then at the Music Society in Rzeszów. He spent the last few years in Przemyśl, where, together with his wife, Wanda née Wostrowska, also a pianist, he founded a music school and rendered significant services to the improvement of the city's musical culture. From 1901 he was the director of the Tow. In Przemyśl. Cyrbes' compositional legacy is small, it includes twenty-odd opuses, including the mass (in the manuscript), songs for one voice, piano and choral pieces. Particularly popular were choral compositions, often performed by Echo from Lviv under the direction of Jan Gall, a friend of Cyrbes and a colleague from the time of his studies in Munich, under the great theorist Józef Rheinberg. Gall highly appreciated Cyrbes' choral pieces, as evidenced in a letter to SA Krzyżanowski, in which he strongly recommends them for publication.

This is one of my better piano compositions, I really did enjoy experimenting with different themes and ideas. I wrote this piece in about a week for a composition challenge in r/musictheory. The style of the composition is a Rag which is an early 20th century genre of music usually for piano that paved the way for blues and jazz. It features syncopated rhythms, colourful harmonies, usually a cheerful tone, and an “oompah” left hand pattern. It was really quite interesting writing in this style and I think it would be good to try it again.When I started writing this piece, I came up with the main theme of the piece first and then wrote the rest of the piece and at the end, I actually added the introduction. As for the other sections of the piece, it was difficult to come up with something that fits the same theme and style but also make it different so that it is interesting for the listener. My favourite section is probably the last one with the descending chromatic scales. I think there is a good build up and release of tension at the end of the piece as well.

Highly influenced by John Cage, 8'66 features compositional practices explored by Cage.Song of the Talpa People calls for the pianist to play the movement while attempting to prevent any of the piano hammers to fall (hit the strings, causing sound); however, due to the tempo marking, human error, and other factors, it is a certainty that the hammers will fall - we simply do not know when, where, and how many of these falls will happen on any given performance. Cage was a pioneer of indeterminant music, a single piece of music that can sound wildly different each time it is heard.In Funeral March for a Deaf Man the written music was lined up directly to a section of Cage's Lecture on Nothing so that whenever a syllable from the speech would be spoken the pianist plays the note(s) that correspond at the same time.The finale, In Futurm, allows for the pianist to perform the piece as originally written.The titles for the three movements are taken from compositions of silent music that predate Cage's 4'33 1. One of the Masterpieces of Chinese Music of 20th Century The magnificent cave art at Dunhuang, in Western China sets the stage for the ballet, “Dream of Dunhuangâ€. In the middle of the vast wastes of Western China, lies the oasis of Dunhuang, situated in today‘s Gansu Province. Since the Western Han Dynasty(202BC-8AC), Dunhuang was an important trading and cultural center on the famous “Silk Road’, the ribbon of communication which fostered the historic ties between East and West. In the East was China, source of treasured trading articles such as silk; in the West, the â€road“ branched to Venice, and north to what is today‘s Russia. The mural led caves at Dunhuang, which were begun the Northern Wei dynasty(336AD), and developed over one thousand years into the Qing Dynasty, re presents one of the world‘s richest cultural treasures. Drawing on bothn Western(Indian and Persian) as well as Chinese tradition, the caves, of which 492 remain intact, were decorated as a mines of religious devotion, with the initiation of Buddhism into China. The subjects of the murals, such as devise, demons, apsaras and bodhisattvas, represent the entire pantheon of Buddhist mythology, yet are also significant in their representation of muti-racial and muti-cultural influences, standing as an important testament to the age old exchange between East and West. A fabricated fantasia, the story of the ballet was inspirited by the famous artist, maestro Chang Shu-hong, who dedicated his whole life to Dunhuang. One of the Huang An-lun‘s major compositions with the play written by Xu Qing-dong, the score of “Dream of Dunhuang†was completed in mid-1979. The ballet has been dedicated to the composer‘s closest friends, Canadian writers John Fraser and Elizabeth MacCallun. Up to the date this CD being released, the ballet has never got a chance to performed in mainland China. Nevertheless, its music has been wildly performed and warmly received around the world. The Singapore premiere of its suite No.1 was performed by the SSO, conducted by Maestro Lim Yao. It has been also chosen as one of the “Master Piece of Chinese Music in 20th Century†in 1993. The world premiere of the complete ballet was performed successfully by the Russian State Ballet of Moscow, directed by its artist director, Vyatcheslav Godeyev, in 1994. Choreographed by Chen Min, it was took place in Taiwan with the Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, conducted by maestro David C.H.Chen. In 2002, ROI of Hong Kong has released the CD of the whole ballet, performed by the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra of Moscow. This is also the audio file attached. Before this recording conducted by the composer himself, the entire score was also performed by the Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra of Moscow in1995. The YouTube video was the World Premiere in Taiwan by the Russia National Ballet with the Taiwan symphony Orchestra, conducted by David Chen in 1994. The ballet, “ Dream of Dunhuang†depicts two young artists seeking the ultimate experience in love and expression. This two lovers arrived at desert and with the guidance of the celestial maiden, they discover the miracles of Dunhuang. It‘s divided into three acts: Act I: Desert, Act II: Cave, and Act III: Mogao cave.
