Brass Ensemble Trumpet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813429 Composed by Johann Pachelbel. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Multicultural,Standards,Wedding,World. Score and parts. 30 pages. Regis Bookshar #6259499. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813429). Canon (Pachelbel) (Bb) (Trumpet Quintet) - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. This selection, Johann Pachelbel's celebrated Canon, is perhaps the most famous canon ever written and has been one of my favorite compositions to arrange. A canon is a polyphonic device in which several voices play the same music, entering in sequence. Pachelbel's Canon, was originally written in the key of D Major and was scored for three violins arranged in canon, accompanied by a basso continuo which repeats the same harmonic progression throughout the entire piece. The common musical term for this is ostinato or ground bass. Regis Bookshar has now arranged this music for a Trumpet Quintet. Three Trumpets play the melody in canon while the ostinato accompaniment is played by the other two Trumpets. This arrangement is suitable for high school and college students but could also be performed by professional performers. It is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library that are becoming available for the first time. It is perfect for concerts and church services, especially for Weddings, but could be performed for any occasion. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (30 pages). This version is written in the key of Bb Major, to make it a little easier for some younger performers, but another version is also available in the key of D Major if you would prefer. Other versions of Pachelbel's Canon have also been arranged by Regis Bookshar and are available for a wide variety of instrumental Quintets and Octets, in both the keys of D Major and Bb Major. I think that String players would probably prefer to play the versions in the key of D Major while the Brass and Woodwind musicians might prefer to play the Bb Major versions. I hope you take the time to compare the different versions to find the right version for you. To help you decide which version, or versions, you may want to choose, I have included several musical samples for you to listen to and to hear what these arrangements may sound like and so that you may compare the various arrangements. Also, just to let you know, the Octets written in the key of Bb Major have full-length recordings while the Octets in D Major and all Quintets have only the first 25 measures, or so, available to hear. Please feel free to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar which are also available. There are quite a few other arrangements in a variety of styles and I'm certain you will find something else which might interest you as well. Please keep checking because I plan to continue to add new arrangements as often as I can. I'm certain that this exciting arrangement of Pachelbel's Canon will be a challenge to some performers but will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

It's You I Like from MISTER ROGERS' NEIGHBORHOOD

Brass Quintet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.775162 Composed by Fred Rogers. Arranged by Bill Wilson. Film/TV. 18 pages. Alexander Wilson #3578023. Published by Alexander Wilson (A0.775162). Fred Rogers and jazz pianist John Costas teamed up to write a number of classic songs for Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. Rogers wrote the lyrics and melodies and Costas wrote amazing accompaniments with lush yet subtle jazz harmonizations for them. It's You I Like is a heartfelt song aimed at children, but the Costas arrangement and Rogers' somewhat generic lyrics turned this into a work that could as easily be interpreted as a torch song. Melodic responsibilities are shared between both trumpets and the French horn. Arranged for brass quintet (two Bb trumpets, French horn, trombone, and tuba). Performance time is approximately 2:10. Visit our website, www.tootsuitebrasspublishing.com, for a catalog of our arrangements available through sheetmusicplus.com.

Trumpet Quintet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1172033 Composed by Georg Philipp Telemann. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Chamber,Historic,Instructional,March. 110 pages. Regis Bookshar #772277. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1172033). Heroic Music - A Suite of Twelve Marches (Complete) - Georg Philipp Telemann - Trumpet Quintet - Intermediate - Digital Download.Heroic Music (or Heldenmusik) is a suite of twelve short marches and processionals, written by Georg Philipp Telemann in 1728, and is associated with various attributes of Heroism such as Dignity, Bravery and Alertness. All twelve movements have now been transcribed and arranged by Regis Bookshar to be played by Trumpet Quintets or Brass Quintets. Some of them have also been arranged for Sextets, Septets, Octets, Nonets and Brass Choirs. Some also include a Timpani. They can be purchased individually, or with this selection, if you prefer, as a complete set of all twelve at a huge saving.Any of these selections would be a wonderful addition to any music library but this complete set of all twelve would be fabulous. They are perfectly suited to recitals and public performances, can stand alone as short interludes and are generally well received by audiences. They are suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing these arrangements. These selections are some of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. In the past, these compoositions have often been performed by a soloist playing on a Piccolo Trumpet, but these new arrangements are Bb Trumpet friendly as one player stated after reading through them, making them much easier for most high school students. This selection, Heroic Music - A Suite of Twelve Marches (Complete), is arranged for a Trumpet Quintet. There is also a version which includes a Timpani on some of the movements, if you prefer. The twelve movements are as follows: No.  1. La Majeste (associated with Dignity); No.  2. La Grace (associated with Grace); No.  3. La Vaillance (associated with Bravery): No.  4. La Tranquillite (associated with Composure); No.  5. L'Armement (associated with Rearmament); No.  6. L'Amour (associated with Love); No.  7. La Vigilance (associated with (Alertness); No.  8. La Gaillardise (associated with Abandon); No.  9. La Douceur (associated with Gentleness); No. 10. La Generosite (associated with Magnanimity); No. 11. L'Esperance (associated with Hope); and No. 12. La Rejouissance (associated with Joy). Included are complete scores for each movement and a complete set of parts (110 pages). To hear what they sound like, please look for each individual selection. (I was not able to download the large mp3 of all twelve.)These selections are readily available for Trumpet Quintets and Brass Quintets. Please take the time to look for other versions of these compositions. You may find something else that may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous selections in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I am certain that these wonderful arrangements of Georg Philipp Telemann's Heroic Music will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

Brass Ensemble Trombone,Trumpet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813416 Composed by Johann Pachelbel. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Concert,Standards,Wedding,World. Score and parts. 30 pages. Regis Bookshar #6259461. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813416). Canon (Pachelbel) (Bb) (Brass Quintet - 3 Trp, 2 Trb) - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. Regis Bookshar has now arranged this music for a Brass Quintet consisting of three Trumpets and 2 Trombones. The three Trumpets play the melody in canon while the ostinato accompaniment is played by the two Trombones. This arrangement is suitable for high school and college students but could also be performed by professional performers.

Heroic Music - A Suite of Twelve Short Marches (Complete) - Georg Philipp Telemann - Trumpet Quintet, Timpani - Intermediate - Digital Download.Heroic Music (or Heldenmusik) is a suite of twelve short marches and processionals, written by Georg Philipp Telemann in 1728, and is associated with various attributes of Heroism such as Dignity, Bravery and Alertness. All twelve movements have now been transcribed and arranged by Regis Bookshar to be played by Trumpet Quintets or Brass Quintets. Some of them have also been aranged for Sextets, Septets, Octets, Nonets and Brass Choirs. Some also include a Timpani. They can be purchased individually, or, if you prefer, as a complete set of all twelve at a huge saving.Any of these selections would be a wonderful addition to any music library, but this complete set of all twelve would be fabulous. In the past, these compositions have often been performed by a soloist playing on a Piccolo Trumpet, but these new arrangements are Bb Trumpet friendly as one player stated after playing through them, making them much easier for most high school students. This selection, Heroic Music - A Suite of Twelve Marches (Complete), is arranged for a Trumpet Quintet and for some selections, a Timpani. There is a version for a Trumpet Quintet, without the Timpani, if you prefer. The twelve movements are as follows: No.  1. La Majeste (associated with Dignity); No.  2. La Grace (associated with Grace); No.  3. La Vaillance (associated with Bravery); No.  4. La Tranquillite (associated with Composure); No.  5. L'Armement (associated with Rearmament); No.  6. B-Flat Trumpet,Piano - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.548502 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christian,Christmas. Score and part. 4 pages. Jmsgu3 #3387385. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548502). The First Noel arranged for Trumpet in Bb & Piano with new harmony for the final verse.Origins The First Noel is an English Christmas carol. Even more, it was probably written in the late Cornish Renaissance period. While other versions spell the title as Nowell, this is just a colloquial variation. Furthermore, Noel is an older word meaning Christmas. Therefore the First Noel translates as the First Christmas. First of all, Gilbert and Sandy published the earliest version. As a result, this version appears in the Carols Ancient and Modern songbook of 1823. William Sandy edited and arranged the book. Similarly, his partner Davies Gilbert edited and added the familiar extra verses. The First Noel: Trumpet Version comes with new harmony in final verse for more energy and drive. Stainer Organist and composer Sir John Stainer published the most noteworthy customary arrangement in the 1870’s. Stainer is above all famous for his songbook entitled: Christmas Carols New and Old (1871). This volume served as an important catalyst for reviving the English Christmas carol. Other famous Stainer arrangements from this book are such titles as What Child Is This, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Good King Wenceslas, and I Saw Three Ships. Diatonic Function The melodic structure in the First Noel is uncommon among English folk tunes. It simply repeats one phrase twice then follows a variation refrain. All three phrases of the song end on the mediant scale degree. This is unusual because the diatonic function of the mediant is non-final compared to the more usual tonic or even dominant degrees. Consequently, this gives the song as kind of open-ended feeling – like maybe it never really ends. Political Context The Catholic clergy sang carols outside of the church in Latin. After the Protestant Reformation, the reformers thought it would be better for everyone to sing carols. They decided to bring music back to the common folk. So, they translated the lyrics from Latin into common language. Moreover, the Protestants wanted more control over the music in church than what the Vatican allowed. Protestant composers such as William Byrd composed complex polyphonic Christmas music that they called carols. Nonetheless, some famous folk carols were composed in this era. Eminent composers in the nineteenth century began to revise and adapt them. Consequently, they revived the English carol. Register for free lifetime updates and revisions at www.jamesguthrie.com

It Is Well With My Soul (When Peace Like a River)

Small Ensemble Horn,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.971700 Composed by Horatio Spafford (lyric) and Phillip Bliss (music). Arranged by Michael E. Ropp. Christian,Sacred,Spiritual. Score and parts. 11 pages. Michael E. Ropp #2959209. Published by Michael E. Ropp (A0.971700). I have always loved this hymn, and one Sunday morning when I had been called upon to write something lyric for our brass quartet (two trumpets in Bb, horn in F, and tuba), I went straight for It Is Well With My Soul. This arrangement tells in music the story of Horatio Spafford and the circumstances under which he wrote the lyric for this hymn. The piece opens with sounding of the horn of Spafford’s ship as she passes over the point at which Spafford's four daughters were lost. The first verse builds dramatically as the lyric comes to Spafford and ends with the lovely chorus. The next section is based on the third stanza of the hymn in which Spafford writes, My sin, not the part, but the whole, is nailed to the cross… The horn gets the melody, evoking the sound of Spafford’s own voice, and the other instruments vividly paint the hammering of the nails. However, as Spafford moves into the chorus, the harmony becomes dark and uncertain as Spafford’s grief overwhelms him; his faith wavers as he tries to believe what he is writing. Then, the melody transfers to the trumpet as Spafford is answered by the higher voice from above-his daughters assuring him that, yes, it IS well, it is well. The piece then ends with a peaceful statement of the chorus, evocative of the rolling sea and Spafford’s soul at peace. This piece can be played by a student ensemble; the primary challenge is in achieving the level of expression and emotion required to pull off a piece like this.

Donuts, if you make a mistake! The initial incarnation of these studies were written for trombone quartet and we would play them in the Tennessee Tech Trombone Choir with the challenge that whomever made the first mistake had to buy donuts for the rest of the ensemble. Since then I have brought that version to several clinics and warm up sessions. One time before I got to explain the title, a fellow trombone professor said, Oh, I get it! Don’t step in the holes!I only wish I had thought of that myself... Since we have one of the best donut shops in TN here in Cookeville, treating the studio to sugar coated goodies was always my intent. As with those initial exercises, you can vary these as much as you’d like.· Choose a tempo.· Choose a dynamic.· Choose an articulation/style.One way I like to play these is to have one person be the model, playing the entire scale over and over while everyone else plays the fragmented versions. That helps everyone to keep on track and stay in time. Double or triple up the parts for ensemble cohesion with a larger group.Practice one key, gradually speeding it up to improve fluidity, or choose a variation and take it through all keys, playing version A, B, C, or D then skipping to play the same set in a new key.If you want an additional challenge, play them in different octaves or change the key. Play the F Major set in f minor (all forms), different modes, etc. Players really have to be on their toes to remember if they are playing melodic minor in the ascending or descending form! For jazz players, try swinging them in dorian or mixolydian modes. The variations are endless! If you are using these with transposing instruments, 1) is F Major in Concert Pitch, 2) is Bb Major in Concert pitch, and so on. When you reach a scale that is enharmonic for another key (Db/C#, Gb/F#, or Cb/B), they are presented in both keys for each instrument so Trumpets can play in Eb while the Flutes are playing in C# with similar examples for all keys. All Donut Etudes with the same volume number are compatible so you can play them in mixed quartets or large ensembles with one or more instruments/people on part 1 and a different instrument on part 2, etc. Since the quartets are all identical, conductors/coaches can use any of the scores to tell which part should be playing at what time. Once you have played a scale with one set of parts, everyone can rotate to a different part and play the same scales again!Enjoy!

Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813481 Composed by Johann Pachelbel. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Multicultural,Standards,Wedding,World. Score and parts. 36 pages. Regis Bookshar #6265545. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813481). Canon in D (Pachelbel) (D) (Brass Octet - 3 Trp, 2 Hrn, 2 Trb, 1 Tuba) (1 Trp, 1 Hrn, 1 Trb lead) - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. This selection, Johann Pachelbel's celebrated Canon in D, is perhaps the most famous canon ever written and has been one of my favorite compositions to arrange. A canon is a polyphonic device in which several voices play the same music, entering in sequence. Pachelbel's Canon in D, was originally written in the key of D Major and was scored for three violins arranged in canon, accompanied by a basso continuo which repeats the same harmonic progression throughout the entire piece. The common musical term for this is ostinato or ground bass. Regis Bookshar has now arranged this music for a Brass Octet consisting of 3 Trumpets, 2 French Horns, 2 Trombones and 1 Tuba. One Trumpet, 1 French Horn and 1 Trombone play the melody in canon while the ostinato accompaniment is played by the other five instruments. This arrangement is suitable for high school and college students but could also be performed by professional performers. It is perfect for concerts and church services, especially for Weddings, but could be performed for any occasion. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (36 pages). This version is written in the key of D Major, as is the original version, but, if you prefer, another version, written in the key of Bb Major, to make it a little easier for some younger performers, is also available. Other versions of Pachelbel's Canon in D have also been arranged by Regis Bookshar and are available for a wide variety of instrumental Quintets and Octets, in both the keys of D Major and Bb Major. B-Flat Trumpet,Drum Set,Euphonium,Flugelhorn,Flute,Guitar,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1012600 Composed by Michelle Kraak. Contemporary,Pop,Rock,Standards. 44 pages. Michelle Kraak #6102861. Published by Michelle Kraak (A0.1012600). Instrumentation: flute, horn, flugelhorn, Bb trumpet 1, Bb trumpet 2, euphonium, amplified guitar, drum set, piano and voice (mezzo soprano)Always Thinking of You is a fusion of a few different styles, including aspects of pop and rock as well as hints to the brass chorale style. It has a unique combination of instruments. Amplification is recommended to get the best group balance. I originally wrote the lyrics as a poem and then set the poem to music. The piece should be sung in a pop-like style, as opposed to an operatic style. It could be programmed in a recital or ensemble concert. The piece has a unique instrumentation, which can be helpful for groupsthat don't have the standard instrumentations. It would work nicely for students or to showcase a vocalist.4 minutes 57 secondsashevilletrumpet.comhttps://www.facebook.com/kraakmichellehttps://www.instagram.com/kraakmichelle/https://www.linkedin.com/in/michelle-kraak-71b0258a/ Lyrics:I don't know what to do,Every step brings me closer to you.Every touch of your hand,This is not what I had planned. Forever and ever,You will always be here,Never forgotten,So painfully near. Each morning I wake,Each breath that I take,I'll always be thinking of you,Always be thinking of you. Love come and gone.Like a snowflake that melts in the spring. My heart will grieve. So for you this song I'll sing. Forever and ever,You will always be here,Never forgotten,So painfully near. Each morning I wake,Each breath that I take,I'll always be thinking of you,Always be thinking of you.

Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813484 Composed by Johann Pachelbel. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Multicultural,Standards,Wedding,World. Score and parts. 36 pages. Regis Bookshar #6265557. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813484). Canon In D (Pachelbel) (D) (Brass Octet - 3 Trp, 2 Hrn, 2 Trb, 1 Tuba) (3 Trp lead) - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. Three Trumpets play the melody in canon while the ostinato accompaniment is played by the other five instruments. I'm certain that this exciting arrangement of Pachelbel's Canon in D will be a challenge to some performers but will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.
