Fire and Ice is a unique chamber work for high school or college aged performers with an original Superhero theme. Jason Beghtol has written a two movement work including story line and graphics that tells the adventure of this incredible man with a bionic body. The work in two movements is about 8 minutes in length. The percussion part is intended to be performed by one musician and is for untuned instruments: Tom toms, Bass Drum, Claves, Shekere, Suspended Cymbal, Temple Blocks, Tambourine, Congas, Hammer and Anvil and Snare Drum. The combination of the instrumentation and the tonality gives this work an enticing and earthy sound for the senses.
