Heinrich Ernst Kayser (1815-1888) was a German violinist violist pedagogue and composer. His most famous work is his opus 20 36 Elementary and Progressive Studies. Originally written for the Violin it has been transcribed for Viola and edited by Leonard Mogill.Students who faithfully follow the instructions given in this edition will find themselves having acquired the correct position of the left hand without which a reliable technique cannot be attained.
