Hymns of Freedom, by Quincy Hilliard, is based upon two Negro spirituals, Nobody Knows the Trouble Iâ??ve Seen and Swing Low, Sweet Chariot. These two hymns are used in fragments throughout the composition. Contrasting sections of serenity and aggression create an emotional and majestic tapestry.
