The associated artists Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II played a prominent role in the history of the American musical. Their collaboration started in 1943 and resulted immediately in the big hit, "Oklahoma." A series of extremely successful musicals followed, such as "South Pacific," "The King and I" and "The Sound of Music." With his usual skill and talent, Peter Kleine Schaars made this fine wind band arrangement of the famous song "It might as well be spring" from the film State Fair (1962), a musical comedy by Jose Ferrer starring Pat Boone.
