The basis for each piece in Negy targy is a pianistic objet trouve, which can either be a particular piano texture, a certain playing technique or an instrument-specific sound possibility. A small, homogeneous musical microcosm is generated around this object. The pieces demand from the performer not only a highly-developed hands-on approach and reading ability, but also a creative, convincing and individual approach with regard to timbre, time and various gestures, especially when playing the not always comfortable actions inside the piano. Further, a logistical ability to master all these techniques confidently in harmony with the constructional requirements of the existing instrument is necessary. (Marton Illes).
