Nightsounds was written to portray the nocturnal sounds around a pond or bog in spring or summer. Represented here are frogs, birds, jumping fish, bats, various insects and periodic wild flurries of all of the above. Premiered in February 2014 by the U.S. Army Band's clarinet ensemble (Pershing's Own, Washington DC), Nightsounds is suited for advanced players but is accessible to all audiences.
