Peace was commissioned in 2005 by the Cheektowaga, New York Music Boosters in celebration of the Cheektowaga Central School District's 50th anniversary. It won First Prize in the 2010 Unitarian Universalist Musicians Network Competition and was a Finalist in the 2007 Ithaca College Choral Composition Competition. Peace has been performed extensively across the United States and Canada. It is scored SAB, Flute and Piano. The main text is a Chinese proverb. This is combined with the traditional Latin text, Dona nobis pacem and its English translation, Grant us peace. Peace is of medium difficulty, appropriate for high school, college, community and church choirs of most any religion or denomination.
