The Psalms without Words series was developed for instrumentalists in finding their own distinctive musical voice by conveying the spirit of the psalm texts. The first piece, “Reverie–Psalm 23:6 I will dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life†is reminiscent of Satie’s Gymnopedies. “Rondo–Psalm 122:1 Let us go rejoicing to the house of the Lord†is a spirited dance with a references to Mozart’s “Rondo alla Turcaâ€.  .
