Jouko Linjama's skilled transcription for organ brings the much-loved Requiem by Joonas Kokkonen to new platforms; it is now possible to perform the work with soloists (2), SATB choir and organ. Kokkonen's Requiem is music of light and hope, no judgement day images are included, but rather warm consolation. The Requiem was composed while and after the composer's wife passed away. There are nine movements in total, text in Latin, and it is firmly rooted in the Requiem tradition. The work ends in an E major chord with word Lux, light, being sung.
