The mallet is constructed of tightly stacked layers of suede on one side and a silicone disc on the other with a hand-turned cork grip between the two sides. These components are assembled over a hollow aluminum tube for a super light-weight feel. The suede column creates a clear, pristine sound when struck against the wall of a bowl. The suede is firm enough for a super quick response, but soft enough for a warm, luscious sound and is safe for striking even thin-walled crystal bowls. It also effortlessly sings the bowls when rubbed along the lip or side. The silicone disc on the opposite end elicits a silky, seamless sustained sound from your bowls when rubbed along the wall of the bowl. The natural cork handle is comfortable and secure in the hand.
