Fabriqué à la main à Pasadena, Californie L’héritage du RCA KU3ALe KU4 rend hommage au légendaire micro unidirectionnel KU3A RCA, un micro haute sensibilité conçu pour les studios de cinéma d’Hollywood. Connu également sous le nom de M-10001 à cause de son numéro de série, il était le micro à ruban le plus cher de RCA. Moins de 600 furent fabriqués. Qu’est-ce qui rendait le KU3A tellement spécial Il associait la douceur de son du ruban du 44, avec une réponse unidirectionnelle, une zone de prise optimisée très large (la fameuse zone ‘Sweet Spot’ tant prisée pour sa qualité sonore unique) et un effet de proximité réduit. Il offrait aux ingénieurs du son des possibilités de positionnements multiples pour les prises et devint rapidement un standard dans les films de cinéma du monde entier. Bien que les micros à condensateur soient devenus la nouvelle référence à la fin des années 60, les micros à ruban restent prisés par les ingénieurs du son les plus exigeants. Ceci dit, le KU3A est un micro rare, un objet de collection, et très peu de studios ou de sociétés de location en possèdent un. Les possibilités de travailler avec un bon KU3A sont limitées. Nous sommes très fiers de vous aider à étendre vos possibilités avec le KU4 AEA : il est équipé d’un ruban RCA, de pièces interchangeables avec le KU3A et offre des résultats sonores parfaitement homogènes. En quoi le KU4 est-il différent des autres micros à ruban L'absence de lobe arrière sur le KU4 est utile dans le cas où les micros à réponse polaire en forme de huit capturent des sons qui ne sont pas désirables. L’effet de proximité réduit du KU4 facilite les prises rapprochées et son ruban accordé dans le bas du spectre restitue des basses solides, exemptes de toute distorsion. Ces caractéristiques font du KU4 le micro parfait pour les studios de production modernes. Son élément à ruban à tension légère et à masse ultra-réduite offre une réponse en fréquence allant jusqu’à 40 kHz et une restitution rapide et fidèle des transitoires. Ici, pas de résonance dans les hauts médiums, qui caractérisent les micros à condensateur de grand diamètre. Le ruban du KU4 est très bien protégé et l’élément polaire et l’équipage mobile du ruban peuvent être remplacés en extérieur par l’utilisateur, ce qui est un véritable avantage en cas d’accident. Le KU4 vous offre l’opportunité de découvrir ce qui fit du KU3A le micro de choix des studios haut de gamme pendant plus de 60 ans. The Tone Beast Black is a mic pre that likes to be pushed and when pushed will colorize your signal ever so sweetly. The 2 opamps and 2 output transformers at the flip of their switches won't appear to be much different, but as one drives the pre into harmonic distortion, the unique character of each of these components becomes apparent. The Tone Beast Black is customizable and allows users to source and swap in their own opamps. The output control on the TB12 allows you to limit the signal exiting the preamp even when pushing the gain to really hot levels, giving you maximum control.
When designing the TB12 Tone Beast Black, Warm's goal was to make a microphone preamplifier affordable and jam packed full of options, without compromising the quality and design parameters that make this type of microphone preamplifier so desirable.

The TB12 Tone Beast 500 is a high-voltage microphone preamplifier, utilzing CineMag USA Transformers. Our own reproduction of the legendary original 2520-style discrete opamp found in the classic american consoles of yesteryear. These op-amps will work in any preamplifier or other device which conforms to the 2520-style footprint and +/-16 voltage standard. Have no fear of hurting the Beast, you can push it very hard into full-on distortions if you wish, and these can sound quite nice on electric guitar, bass or anything else that likes some nice grit. |
