This previously unpublished work for flute and viola existed first as a transcription for flute and clarinet, and was published by Barenreiter in 1945. Now, Universal Edition makes available this edition of a fascinating dodecaphonic composition incorporating Krenek's inventive interpretation of the twelve-tone practices of Arnold Schoenberg and the Second Viennese School. This sonatina, in this current and original instrumentation, was premiered in 1942 at the Teatro del Pueblo in Buenos Aires. For advanced players.
