At the end of his short career in 1965, he wrote his Sonata for Cello and Piano. The two movement format follows the format of a rhapsody. The Larghetto is dominated by pentatonic melodies characteristic of Hungarian folksongs. In contrast, the Allegro assai takes the tone of a bagpipe song, offering rhythmic and virtuosic parts for each instrument.
