Uusmaalaisten Laulu

The Southern Finland Fraternity at Helsinki University asked Sibelius in 1912 to write a new song for the province of Uusimaa. A competition was arranged to find a suitable text and the winner was a teacher called Kaarlo Terhi. Sibelius wrote the music in parallel for mixed chorus and male chorus.
