Variations on Lift High the Cross (CRUCIFER) has a fanfare introduction, which also can be used as a hymn introduction. That is followed by an Allegretto, Meditation, Scherzo, Reflection, and Finale. Also included are two variations, Trumpet Tune and Exaltation, which work well as postludes. Exaltation can also serve as another hymn introduction. Registrations can easily be adapted for a two-manual organ. Useful for service, recital, or teaching.
