The duets in this volume were written to present the beginning to intermediate violin student with challenging and diverse material. Some of the pieces utilize the major scale in sharp keys, while others utilize various modes such as Phrygian and Dorian.
The duets can be played by two students, teacher-student, or as a warm-up for more advanced players. The pieces are graded on a level from 1 to 3, and most can be played in first position. Each duet has a characteristic feature such as consecutive down-bowing, pizzicato, legato.
