The Nord Wave 2 is a powerful 4-part synthesizer combining synthesis with virtual analog modeling, sample playback, FM synthesis and wave tables with an intuitive user interface focused on layer processing. With 48 polyphony channels, innovative performance features and real-time control, the Nord Wave 2 has exceptional sound capabilities with unrivaled layering and editing possibilities on the fly. THE MOST VERSATILE NORTHERN SYNTHESIZER EVER MANUFACTURED With 4 independent synthesizers in a single machine the Nord Wave 2 allows you to superimpose classic waveforms and samples. Two OLED screens dedicated to Programs and the Oscillator Section provide an excellent overview when it comes to shaping your sounds. The wide range of features dedicated to performance and the effects that can be modified in real time make the Nord Wave 2 the most versatile Nord synth ever built. LAYER SECTION The Nord Wave 2 offers a Layer section with 4 potentiometers for easy control of the volume or pan of the 4 layers simultaneously. The Layer section also provides other very practical functions to allow rapid editing, by working simultaneously on the selected Layers: solo pan control and multiple editing. The new Group function allows you to group 2,3 or 4 Layers and process them with the same filters, envelopes, arpeggiators, LFOs and effects, which is perfect for working on complex multilayer sounds that can be edited as one and same sound. On the other hand, three keyboard split points are available, which offers four playing zones with possibilities of fading between these zones. OSCILLATOR SECTION The oscillator section of each of the 4 layers offers 4 modes: analog modeling, wave table, FM, and sample playback. Access is simplified thanks to the new category potentiometer. Oscillator parameters include additional control of Shape, Sync or Detune parameters. The oscillator section also has a multiple Unison effect Superwaves which simultaneously generate hundreds of waveforms for extremely thick and fat sounds FILTERS, AMP and LFO The filter section has 6 kinds of filters including an impressive ladder filter emulation found in the legendary Mini. It also has a complete ADSR envelope. We also find by layer: a dedicated LFO with choice of waveform, a vibrato and an AD / AR type modulation envelope with a velocity adjustment and an inversion mode. The LFO has several morphables parameters and its frequency can be synchronized with the main clock. The Amp section is equipped with a full ADSR envelope including a brand new Transient Attack mode to add even more punch to your sounds. MORPHING AND IMPULSE MORPH The Nord Wave 2 offers a wide range of morphable parameters including the amount of LFO, the control of the oscillator, the filter and the effects which can be controlled from several sources. Velocity, aftertouch, modulation wheel and control pedal. All of these morph sources can be quickly assigned to control multiple parameters as well as the powerful Impulse Morph button which allows you to instantly change any parameter of your sounds. POLYPHONIC AND GATE ARPEGGIATOR The Nord Wave 2 is a real rhythmic powerhouse with on the one hand a classic arpeggiator and on the other hand a polyphonic mode with editable patterns with different inversions for very interesting harmonic variations. New Gate Cut mode cuts your shape using a rhythmic pattern with adjustable depth. Pattern mode Contains a wide selection of rhythm patterns and allows easy editing to customize your patterns. EFFECT SECTION An effect section is available for each Layer and each offers real-time modifiable stereo effects including Tremolo, Pan, Ring Modulator, Chorus, Ensemble and Vibe as well as an EQ with saturation. All effects are controllable using the control pedal (or one of the morph sources) and can also be synchronized to the main clock for rhythmic effects Advanced stereo delay effect with Ping Pong mode, Analog mode and Tap Tempo.
