Added by douglas-brooks-davies, 05 Jan 2010 An arrangement of several Christmas carols, mainly English, for two flutes. Great fun, and not too difficult, it includes such favourites as In the bleak Midwinter, Ding Dong Merrily and Now the Holly bears a Berry. The carols are arranged as a sequence from Advent to the Birth Of Christ, beginning with 'Let all mortal Flesh keep Silence' and concluding with 'We three Kings of Orient are'. Sheet central : | Recueils & collections de Noël (60 sheet music) | |
Lovely duets. No piano accompaniment needed. Unique arrangements -- not a monotonous approach. Look for his flute/piano carol book as well. That they are available at no charge is a gift. I am now a devoted follower of Douglas Brooks-Davies. douglas-brooks-davies , 10 Dec 2014 at 17:33 ↪ Thank you; that is very kind of you and much appreciated. |
These intelligently arranged carols are grouped as a suite for two flutes. There is variety in the material, which includes some not so well known pieces - but contrary to the blurb doesn't include either O Come O Come Emmanuel or The Angel Gabriel. You need to be tonally and technically comfortable up to A3, though not all the pieces go this high. Great fun, with good conversation between the parts. |
Nicely arranged carols.....really appreciate that the two parts are quite equal in difficulty...melody passed - so difficult to find well arranged carols that have some challenge...especially like Three Kings,,,,,great feel to this one |
