Added by bernard-dewagtere, 12 Apr 2010 Jericho is one of oldest known urban areas. Situated in Palestine in the North of the Dead Sea, on a hillside of the Jordan Rift Valley, this site marked the biblical history thanks to a famous episode. In the XIIIth century before Christ, Josué, the Hebrew leader of the dissident people cananéen and the Moses? friend, sets out to conquer the country of Canaan. By approaching Jericho, the inhabitants of which take refuge behind robust bulwarks, made Josué resound his trumpets and succeeds supernaturally in destroying(annulling) the enemy defenses before sacrificing them mercilessly. What is the part of the historic truth of this legend, simple earthquake? The historians do not stop wondering about the question. Thanks for this. It is a great spiritual to get started with and this is a lovely arrangement. |
