Added by alastair-lewis, 30 Nov 2011 The duration of this music is about 2 minutes and 30 seconds. This guitar piece is in the key of E minor, and has a time signature of 3/4. The piece has many arpeggios and is a good practice of slurs. It is suitable for an intermediate guitarist. The Italian Mauro Giuliani (1781–1829) was an accomplished guitarist, cellist, singer, and composer. His first instrument was the cello which he continued to play throughout his life, however after devoting himself to the guitar he rapidly progressed and became a skilled performer. In 1806 Giuliani moved to the capital city of Austria, Vienna where he began publishing compositions in the classical style in 1807. He achieved much success touring throughout Europe and his virtuosity and musical taste made him into a musical celebrity. He later returned to Italy where he ultimately found a modicum of success in Naples. He often appeared in duo concert with his daughter Emilia who was also a gifted guitarist.
