Added by magataganm, 07 Oct 2013 Franz Bühler (also written Bihler: 1760 - 1824), was a Benedictine monk, musician and composer. At the age of ten, he studied music with the choirmaster in the Neresheim Benedictine abbey, local high school, where he learned to play the piano and the basso continuo. From 1775 he studied theology at Augsburg, philosophy and music. In 1778 he entered the Donauwörther Benedictine Holy Cross , where Abbot Celestine II under the care of the music at the monastery experienced a special promotion. In 1784 he was ordained a priest. Here he received from the composer Antonio Rosetti teaching, who played at nearby Oettingen-Wallerstein in the local royal court orchestra. 1794 Buhler left the monastery to take the place of the pin organist in Bolzano. In 1801 he became the Augsburg Domkapellmeister appointed. Buhler left behind an extensive work on compositions, especially of sacred music. Although his Grande Sonate in E-flat Major was written for Piano, Clarinet, Horns and Strings, I created this arrangement of the 1st Movement (Allegro Brillante), 2nd Movement (Romance) and 3rd Movement (Rondo:Presto) for Bb Clarinet and Acoustic Piano. |
