Composers note:

This is a political work. When racist and homophobic ideas are given legitimacy through the programs of nationalistic political parties, which defines their ideas of a pure Nation and what the undesirable variations in a society are, then there is every reason to fight for the equality of all - regardless of race, gender or sexual orientation.

This piece is my way of fighting for a society where all variations are desirable.

I won a composition contest in Japan. On the 25th of March The Rosetta Art & Music Collective will play my "Uguisu variations" in Kyoto. (Uguisu is the bird in the picture) And the great thing is that I will actually be there for the concert.

On 11/11 at 18 Magnus Billström and Michael Kongstad gives the first performance of the five songs to text of the swedish author Hjalmar Söderberg. At the Thielska Art Gallery in Stockholm - where Söderberg also lived for a while.
