Joseph Bodin de Boismortier (1689 - 1755)

Joseph Bodin de Boismortier (born December 23, 1689 in Thionville; died October 28, 1755 in Roissy-en-Brie) was a French baroque composer of instrumental music, cantatas, opera ballets, and vocal music. Boismortier was purely a composer and one of the first to have no patrons but be able to make a living simply by writing new works of music.
