Jacob Schmitt
Jacob Schmitt (1803 - 1853)

A German pianist, composer and teacher, Jacob Schmitt came from a family of a cantor. A very productive composer, Schmitt lived and worked in Hamburg where he created over 300 works: many volumes of studies, variations, and sonatas for piano as well as compositions for violin and piano. Schmitt’s methods L'usage des elèves avancé were considered very important educational materials.
