John Alden Carpenter (1876 - 1951)

John Alden Carpenter (February 28, 1876 – April 26, 1951) was an American composer. Carpenter was born in Park Ridge, Illinois on February 28, 1876, and raised in a musical household. He was educated at Harvard University,[1] where he studied under John Knowles Paine, and was president of the Glee Club, also writing music for the Hasty-Pudding Club.
