 | Valentin Lechner Slovénie
VALENTIN LECHNER almost unknown composer, who worked as proffesional musician in Maribor (Slovenia) between 1800 and 1805. There have been preserved 3 Missas, only one from them is complete (one dated from 1802). After 1805 Lechner left Maribor and became an organist in Celovec (Klagenfurt, now Austria). In 1806 he moved in Ljubljana (Slovenia) where was accepted as a teacher, but on 1807 has quit this job. In Ljubljana were found two uncomplete Lechners 'Tantum ergo' and 'Missa a Lechner' dated 1863. In 1991 Milko Bizjak discovered 3 complete preserved Lechners bigger works in Ptuj (Slovenia): 'Offertorium pro festo resurrectionem', 'Missa in C' (dated 1840) and 'Veni Sancte Spiritus' (dated 1832).
