Georg Philipp Telemann (1681-1767) was a German,
Baroque composer who was a self taught musician. After
giving up pursuing a law degree, he jumped into a
musical career. His music incorporates several national
styles, including French, and Italian, and he is even
at times influenced by Polish popular music. The Gigue
a l’Angloise is referencing the English country
dance, the Angloise. This piece was written in the key
of G Major and there are two separate complex lines in
