Ajoutée par lrubarth, 13 Avr 2022 This lovely prelude by the Spanish romantic composer Francisco Tárrega (1852-1909) is probably one of the most popular classic solo guitar pieces. According to wikipedia Lágrima was composed between late 1891 and early 1892, but there's a dubious rumor, claiming that Tárrega composed it sometime in 1881 while performing in London. For this solo charango adaption I transposed the piece from its original key of E major/E minor to C major/C minor, but except for some unavoidable octave transpositions there was no need for any significant changes of the original composition, and the character of the piece has stayed pretty much the same. However, in the repetition of the second section I added a few harmonies to parts of the melody and a little variation at the end of the section before closing the work by repeating the first section. On my YouTube recording I performed the piece on a Peruvian baritone charango (Ronroco tuning: dd,gg,bB,ee,bb) so it will be heard in G major,/G minor, but of course it can be played on a normal sized charango (standard tuning: gg,cc,eE,aa,ee), and in spite of a few minor technical difficulties it can also be learned and performed by less experienced players and ambitious beginners. |
