Two of the many works Telemann wrote specially for
amateurs are the presented collections of 50 menuets
each. The composer himself published them in 1728 resp.
1730 in Hamburg in a weekly installments of 7 menuets
at a time (last week 8). Each collection progresses
through all keys in alphabetical order, beginning with
A major and minor in the first week and ending with G
major and minor in the seventh. All these 50 resp. 100
menuets of TWV 34 were published in a score with a
