Franz Anton Hoffmeister (1754-1812) composed two
quintets for flute, oboe, basset horn, viola and
bassoon. The first quintet has been published by
Edition Kunzelmann in 1993. Here the second quintet is
presented. It is based on a manuscript by Heinrich
Fink, who used sources of the Austrian Stift Florian.
The piece is mentioned also in the publisher's
catalogue of Johann Traeg 1799 Vienna. In order to play
the piece completely with wind instruments, we add a
