Ajoutée par alfredo17, 03 Nov 2020 In the list of the compositions of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the Köchel-Verzeichnis, there are variations for piano about the song ‘Freut euch des Lebens’ (Life let us cherish) designated KV6 C.26.07 (KV3 Anh. 289a). The song is from an unknown composer, and the variations probably not by Mozart, but by the German composer Johann Michael Lanz. Lanz was active about 1790 to 1810 and left works like songs, piano music and variations, a string quartet and a symphony. The German clarinettist Heinrich Fink (1925 – 1999), a former member of the ‘Duisburger Sinfoniker’, devoted himself especially to play the basset horn. After the second world war he was among the first people to play basset horn music in the public and to make records of it. For his own use he arranged the above mentioned variations for basset horn and string trio. |
