The Austrian clarinetist Peter Forcher is conductor of
the ‘Pannonisches Blasorchester’ and docent at the
Musical Institute Oberschützen, part of the Art
University Graz. In order to support basset horn play
he arranged pieces of famous and beautiful music for
this instrument. Franz Schubert in 1815 composed the
poem ‘Heidenröslein’ (Little rose of the field) by
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe as song for voice and piano
(D 257). Forcher arranged this song for 3 basset horns.
