Ajoutée par alfredo17, 10 Jui 2022 Josef Bernhard (‚Jo‘) Knümann (1895 – 1952) was a German pianist and composer. He performed studies in piano and composition in Köln and Berlin and started a successful career as concert pianist. Since 1924 he concentrated on entertainment music and played with own bands in famous coffeehouses in Berlin, Wien , Amsterdam and other places. For his own use he composed pieces based on folk music of different countries with titles like ‘Russisch’, ‘Ungarisch’,’Schottisch’ and others. Here his piece ‘Russisch’ , originally for salon orchestra, is presented in an reduction to clarinet with string quartet. For the clarinet part we offer 3 versions: clarinet in A or B or basset horn. |
