This piece is an ode to a wonderful person, Darren
Rich. Darren is a pilot, flight instructor, and
trombone player. While the Greater Victoria Concert
Senior Band (GVCB) was, was rehearsing a composition of
mine, Darren reached out to me to negotiate a certain
trombone passage. I felt honored and impressed: I found
it very inspiring that a musician will take such steps
to make music as personable as possible! While I
thought (and still think) I owe Darren a big thank you,
