Friedrich Grützmacher (1832 - 1903) Allemagne Friedrich Wilhelm Grützmacher (1 Mars 1832 à 1823 Février 1903) était un relevé allemand violoncelliste dans la seconde moitié du 19ème siècle. Il a composé la plupart du temps pour violoncelle (dont plusieurs concertos et de nombreuses études techniques), mais aussi écrit des pièces pour orchestre, musique de chambre, de la musique de piano et des chansons.
Grützmacher est né à Dessau , Anhalt , et a été enseigné par son père. Bientôt, il a commencé à étudier le violoncelle avec Dotzauer l 'élève, Karl Dreschler (1800-1873).
En 1848, il a été découvert en Leipzig par le célèbre violoniste, Ferdinand David , qui a organisé des concerts pour lui. En 1850, il est devenu violoncelliste solo de l'orchestre du théâtre de Leipzig, les Gewandhaus Concerts et professeur à l' Conservatoire de Leipzig . Il a joué dans la David String Quartet.
En 1860 Grützmacher s'installe à Dresde comme violoncelle solo de l'Orchestre de la cour, et la tête de la Société musicale de Dresde. En 1877, il devient professeur à l' Conservatoire de Dresde . Il des concerts à toute l'Europe et la Russie impériale , où il est devenu un ami de la célèbre violoncelliste Karl Davydov . Il a joué la première représentation de Richard Strauss de Don Quichotte dans Cologne en 1898. Il fut le maître de Wilhelm Fitzenhagen , et Hugo Becker (dont etudes sont encore utilisés).
Grützmacher est le plus célèbre aujourd'hui pour prélever des échantillons de quatre ouvrages différents pour former son édition de Luigi Boccherini l ' Concerto en si bémol , étant encore publié et exécuté. Il est également connu pour réarranger JS Bach l ' Suites pour violoncelle avec des accords supplémentaires, des passages et des embellissements. Ses cadences pour les concertos pour violoncelle de Boccherini et Haydn sont souvent réalisées à ce jour. four sacral works, two of
which were arranged for
cello quartet by the
editor of the series,
Árpád Pejtsik. Both
Angelus!, Liszt's piano
piece of ethereal beauty,
and the Kyrie of Mozart's
Requiem, an irresistibly
surging four-part fugue,
are magnificent when
played with the immensely
rich sound of the four
cellos. The second part
of the volume contains a
pair of inspired works by
two prominent cellists
and composers of the 19th
century: Karl Friedrich
Wilhelm Fitzenhagen's
Consecration Hymn and
Friedrich Grützmacher's
Ave Maria. While an
instrumental skill of at
least intermediate level
is required for playing
the upperparts due to the
use of higher positions,
the lower parts can be
performed by beginner
cellists. The editor has
assisted the appropriate
interpretation of the
works by providing the
fingering and bowing.
