Immer ist
Musik - auch solche, die
aus modischen Grunden
vorgibt, auf der Hohe
ihrer Zeit zu stehen und
um der Avanciertheit
ihrer Mittel willen mit
der Tradition brechen
mochte - historisch
bestimmt.
Geschichtlichkeit ist ihr
wesensmassig auf Grund
des Gewachsenseins vom
tonenden Material
eingeschrieben.
Geschichtlich ist sie
auch hinsichtlich ihrer
gesamten Erscheinung als
Tonkunst innerhalb einer
gewachsenen Gesellschaft.
In dieser Sammlung von
Aufsatzen geht es
indessen weniger um die
Geschichtlichkeit von
Musik in diesem eher
allgemeinen Sinn, als
vielmehr um die Darlegung
konkreter Ruckbeziehungen
von zeitgenossischer
Musik auf zwei
Komponisten der
Vergangenheit, die auf
Grund ihrer Eigenheiten
im kompositorischen
Denken die Musik der
achtziger Jahre
nachhaltiger als viele
andere beeinflusst haben.
Reflektiert und gebrochen
lebt die Musik von Franz
Schubert und Gustav
Mahler in der Musik des
20. Jahrhunderts fort,
und der Leser wird bei
Betrachtung der auf
Schubert und Mahler
ruckbezogenen Werke uber
die Beiden mindestens
ebensoviel erfahren wie
uber diejenigen, die sich
deren Musik aneignend
angenahert haben.Die
Beitrage sind aus der
Hochschularbeit heraus
entstanden und wollen in
ihrer Disparatheit
weniger ein komplettes
System als vielmehr so
etwas wie ein
Beziehungsgeflecht dar-
und herstellen.
