This brand new beater is a variation on Dragonfly's existing beater line with some key updates. 15 layers of black suede are tightly stacked on a light-weight aluminum tube and cap. The lighter weight allows for whisper-soft dynamics when accompanying a piano trio, or jazz singer, all the way up to a huge punch for kicking a big band or heavily amplified acoustic ensemble. The suede has a clean, clear sound ideal for smaller bop-style 16" or 18" inch bass drums; but has an underlying warmth not found in typical felt beaters and can cut through on "20", "22," or even "24" bass drum with punch and tone.
