Jack White utilise la Plasma Coil sur le dernier album des Raconteurs Help Us Strangeret la tournée qui suivra. La Plasma Coil pousse encore plus loin la distorsion à haute tension en ajoutant des effets d’octave supérieure et inférieure intenses et uniques en poussant le transformateur haute tension :2 modes subharmoniques (octave inférieure typée bit crush).1 mode harmonique haute (octave supérieure typée octafuzz).2 modes mélangés (harmoniques hautes et basses combinées). C’est le frère déjanté de la Plasma Pedal. Les effets d’octave ajouteront des graves et des aiguës massives aux notes élevées et un gain extrême et intense aux notes plus graves. Le chemin simplifié parcouru par le signal est le suivant :Entrée > Egalisation > Octave/Effet > Transformateur à haute tension > Lampe au xénon > Antenne qui reprend les vibrations électromagnétiques autour de la lampe > Sortie.
