Karl Adolf Lorenz (1837 - 1923)

Karl Adolf Lorenz (13 August 1837 – 3 March 1923) was a German conductor, composer, and music pedagogue. Born in Köslin, his family moved to Stettin where he attended the Marienstiftsgymnasium (de) (a school) for 16 years. During those 16 years, Lorenz studied music with composer Heinrich Trieste (1808–1885). In 1857, Lorenz went on to study at the Humboldt University of Berlin, earning a PhD in philosophy in 1861.
