| Ajoutée par saxman05, 31 Mar 2014 "Doxology"= A study of the tune "Doxy" by Sonny Rollins. I begin with an authentic "church" doxology in chorale style, played slowly. Then into a catchy melody based on the chord structure of "Doxy". You will hear fragments of the original tune scattered throughout. The journey continues through a series of jazz solo's, first the tenor, then the alto and a stop time solo for the baritone player. After a modulation the original theme returns and we come full circle ending with the chorale doxology. A fun, swinging piece the entire group will enjoy! | |||
