Some sources equal the author with Jossequin Lebloitte dit Desprez (Josquinus Pratensis), but the attribution of this work to that author is questionable, see: https://josquin.stanford.edu/work/?id=Jos2812 All accidentals are editorial. Note values have been halved. The Italian lyrics have been somewhat modernised, and the distribution of the final “per amore” is editorial. The piano reduction is simplified for playability; it is unsuitable for voice tracking due to several voice crossings.
